Senator Francis Tolentino is set to launch the LITAW program, a forward-thinking disaster relief initiative aimed at providing swift and comprehensive assistance to Filipino families affected by natural calamities.

LITAW, an acronym for liwanag (light), internet, tubig (water), assistance, and welfare, aims to address the urgent needs of communities devastated by disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and fires.

The LITAW program is expected to launch this month with pilot initiatives targeting some of the most disaster-prone regions in the Philippines.

Tolentino aims to institutionalize this program as a critical component of the country’s disaster management framework. “The goal is not just to provide temporary relief but to give Filipino families the tools and resources they need to recover and thrive even in the aftermath of a disaster,” he emphasized.

In a document posted on its website, the DOE said the projects were endorsed to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) for a system impact study.

As part of his re-election campaign, the senator’s program reflects his unwavering commitment to enhancing disaster resilience and addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable communities.
